Our 2020 Adventures

Pulling Up to a Boundary Waters Portage: Photo by Cecilia Clark

Despite limited travel options due to COVID, Jani & Gary managed a few trips and adventures this year. In January, they were riding mountain trails outside Tucson Arizona at the Tanque Verde Ranch. Gary and his sister, Stacy, went dogsledding in Minnesota in March. Jani & Gary worked at trail maintenance throughout the year on various Litchfield County hiking trails.

July found them canoeing in the Adirondacks, and in September they were paddling in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness.

But the COVID infection made travel difficult and a few trips had to be cancelled. A planned trip to visit Wyatt’s family was called off in April, and a much-anticipated family adventure to a guest ranch in West Yellowstone, Montana never happened. This trip was a huge disappointment because it involved the whole family, including their 4 grandsons.

They finally managed to return to Seattle in November for a memorable 5-day trip that included hiking on the Olympic Peninsula. There are also plans for a return trip to Tucson in January, but that will be decided on health considerations.

All of these adventures will be documented in this blog. Here are some quick links you can use as an alternate to selecting a post:
