For Jude’s birthday (he was 8 on July 5), Gary secured tickets for a Yankee home game for Jude, Austin and himself. It was Jude’s first time attending a professional baseball game inn the Bronx. This rite of passage included traveling on “The Yankee Clipper” train, stadium hot dogs, a visit to the Yankee Museum (a first for Austin and Gary), a temporary rain delay, watching the Yankees’ ace, Gerrit Cole, strike out 11 and experiencing seven innings of professional baseball before they had to leave. Unfortunately, the Yankees blew their lead while we were on the train home, but it was a fulfilling ‘first’ for everyone who attended.
