Wyatt & Sara’s Family – 2023 Update

Wyatt and Sara live on Vashon Island, a short ferry ride on Puget Sound from West Seattle. They have two sons, Emmett (81/2) and Luca (almost 6). When not at the office, or at school, their family spends most of their time outdoors, enjoying the many aspects of nature that are unique to the Pacific Northwest.

The boys spend lots of time on trails or on the Sound, turning over rocks, looking for critters and enjoying the mountains and lakes that are a big part of living in Washington. They went on a great kayaking trip in British Columbia last August, with their parents and their grandfather, Roger. It featured lots of fishing, which the boys love.

Wyatt and Sara are both environmental lawyers. Sara works for Puget Sound Energy as Director of Environmental Program Services, and Wyatt is a law partner at the Seattle law firm Ziontz Chestnut. The firm has a national practice representing Indian tribes and related entities, focusing on the areas of Indian and environmental law. Wyatt has had to travel a lot more this past year, largely throughout the west but he has also made a number of trips to Washington DC to address the concerns of his Indian clients.

Emmett is in third grade and Luca is in Kindergarten at the same school on Vashon Island. Emmett started playing lacrosse last year and his dad is helping to coach that team this year. The entire family is going to Hawaii in February for cousin Kent’s wedding, for which Wyatt is best man.
