Tuesday – Lost Palms Oasis

Rain was forecast for Tuesday, but the group planned a hike to Lost Palms Oasis. Fortunately, the trailhead was an hour’s drive east where we never encountered any rain. As mentioned earlier, Joshua Tree is HUGE; this section had no Joshua Trees, the terrain was different and the hike was spectacular. The trail was 7.5 miles out and back, but the oasis was worth it. The descent to the oasis was steep, on slippery rock, so only the most intrepid of us (kids) took the chance to experience the Lost Palms Oasis. We had started late and returned as the sun was setting.
