Our Extended Family Update – 2021

Twice a year – in the summer and at Thanksgiving – our family convenes an informal reunion at either Ithaca NY or Bantam CT. These gatherings have proven to be a great time for us to catch up on stories, accomplishments and to reinforce memories. Both events have become welcome traditions that allow us to spend some quality time together and cement the bond that is family.
In the past, many of our more distant family have journeyed east to share these occasions, but as families grow and disease hampers travel, we recognize that it is hard for everyone to make the trip. We feel it has become important to recognize many of our far-flung family here. Here are some of the highlights:
NEWEST MEMBER OF THE FAMILY, FROM SWEDEN
Our niece Rebecca(Kent’s daughter) gave birth to a daughter, Lova, May 2, 2021. It has been a couple of years since we have seen Rebecca and Mattis, but we are hoping for a future visit so we can meet their children. (For the next addition to our family click on the Maine link below.)
In Seattle, our nephew Kent (Matt’s son)has become engaged to Siobhan, although no date has been set, to our knowledge.
Our niece Johanna (Lance’s daughter) and her husband Tom have moved back to New York and were able to join us for Thanksgiving this year. Another niece Kira (Stacy’s daughter) , who shared a couple of Thanksgivings with us, is back in California where she is in the second year of law school at Cal Berkeley. She has secured an internship with a New York City law firm.
