TWA Hotel at JFK Airport

We had an early flight to Seattle for November 5, so we chose to stay overnight at JFK the night before. A deciding factor, aside from a 2 a.m. wake-up and a long drive) was the opportunity to stay in the iconic TWA terminal which had been converted to a hotel. We had a delightful experience, often marveling at the wonderful job the engineers had done with this conversion, as well as the initial architectural elements of this still-futuristic structure. The view from our room

Aside from the gorgeous design of the building, we had one the most comfortable nights in memory. Somehow, the developers had managed to block out all airport noise (7 layers of glass) and include great furnishings, complete with womb chair and terrific king-sized bed.
